CINCINNATI (WHAS11)—The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals will hear cases about gay marriage on Wednesday.
A three-judge panel will hear arguments from several states, dealing with six cases from Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee, the most of any federal appeals court thus far.
A ruling would be expected within a few months of the hearings.
Over the past eight months courts have ruled against gay marriage bans across the country, setting precedent for a case or cases to be heard by the Supreme Court to finally settle the issue.
Similar hearings are set for the coming weeks in federal courts in Chicago and San Francisco.
