WASHINGTON (AP) — House Democrats' campaign arm again outraised its Republican rivals and has almost $51 million in the bank for an uphill fight to claim the majority.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on Tuesday said it raised almost $11 million last month. The committee has outraised the National Republican Congressional Committee in 16 of the last 18 months.
Earlier Tuesday, the GOP committee tasked with keeping House Republicans in the majority said donors in June gave almost $10 million. The GOP committee has almost $43 million in the bank.
Republicans are expected to keep control of the House after November's elections. Even so, political giving and spending has continued at a rapid clip. Republicans have booked $30 million in air time already, and Democrats have reserved $44 million.
