INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A candidate for the Democratic nomination to head a Marion County court candidate wants election officials to investigate a mailing from his party that he says he is not recommended in Tuesday's primary election.
The Indianapolis Star reports (http://indy.st/1mrVYyh ) that Gregory Bowes filed a complaint Saturday with the county elections board. Bowes is running against party-selected candidates for judge in Marion Superior Court.
He says the party mailed out a sample ballot that doesn't name Bowes and unselected candidates, but says "This Candidate Not Recommended."
Bowes says the party's selection process is unfair.
The election board's director says it asked the party chairman to explain, but the complaint won't be reviewed until the morning of the election.
Democratic Party Chairman Joel Miller called Bowes' complaint a publicity stunt.
