COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The state of Ohio says it has a bargain to offer motorists.
About 194 vehicles went on the bidding block Saturday in Columbus, a surplus auction run by the Ohio Department of Administrative Services.
The items up for auction included cars, SUVs, trucks, vans and trailers and a 1992 model 25-foot Boston Whaler Challenger boat.
Prospective buyers had a week to inspect the vehicles and a chance Friday to turn over the engine.
But, some cautionary notes: vehicles are sold as-is with no warranties and must be paid for in full at the time of the auction.
The state says its property auctions offer quality goods at reduced prices. Property and vehicle auctions generated more than $2.5 million last year for state government.
