FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Democratic congressional candidate Bill Adkins is planning to blast his Republican opponent in a cable TV ad airing in the 4th District.

The Texas-based political group Liberty For All spent more than $500,000 on TV ads in Louisville and Cincinnati to help Lewis County Judge-Executive Thomas Massie win the GOP nomination last month.

The spot that's scheduled to begin airing Friday charges that the Republican nomination was "flat out bought with big Texas money."

Adkins said he hopes Massie will not expect outside money to buy the general election.

Massie campaign chairman Phil Moffett said Massie won the May primary because he was the best candidate and that he will win the November election for the same reason.
