LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Gov. Steve Beshear is promoting his party's entire ticket as Democrats try to win a clean sweep in Tuesday's election.
With polls showing him with a commanding lead, Beshear talked about working as a team with the Democratic ticket in leading Kentucky during the next four years. Beshear was flanked by the Democratic ticket during rally Sunday afternoon in Lexington.
Beshear told the crowd that he had guided Kentucky through the tough times of an economic recession, and he said better times are ahead.
The governor stressed the importance of a strong turnout by voters in the election, when he will be challenged by Republican David Williams and independent Gatewood Galbraith.
