LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Norton Children's Hospital got a major boost Thursday in its work to help families cope with diabetes.
The Price family leaned on Norton Children's Hospital last year as their 4-year-old daughter Norah was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
Today the family, along with their daughter and other young children, were on hand to make the $600,000 donation, which will help support initiatives that will help other families cope with a diabetes diagnosis.
“We still have many sleepless nights where we're up and down, checking blood sugar and giving insulin. The hospital and the staff met us in our time of need when we're in the heat of the battle,” said Norah’s father Charles Price.
Right now about 1,500 children are receiving on-going care for their diabetes at the Wendy Novak Diabetes Center at Norton Children's Hospital.
