(WHAS11) -- A new poll has found the United States Congress is less popular than... well... a lot of things. According to Public Policy Polling, Congress is currently less popular than head lice, brussel sprouts and traffic jams.

Congress only has a 9 percent favorability rating with 85 percent of voters viewing it in a negative light.

" I think everyone is pretty unhappy with congress right now," a Kentuckiana resident said. "I’d just like to get rid of them all," said another.

Congress has sunk to an all new level. The poll found 26 things so gross but people preferred it over Congress. One of the top items, lice.

A man with a strange head of hair also made the popular list.

"Donald Trump, oh no. I don't like Donald Trump. He's too critical," a resident said.

The NFL replacement refs may have messed everything up, but apparently so have our elected leaders.

The band Nickelback strikes a bad note with many, but, still those polled prefer them. We even took the poll on the road and found yet another pet peeve that ranks higher. Even a traffic jam is more popular than Congress.

"I think divided government is great and we shouldn't expect too much for things to be done," a resident said.

"They go up to D.C., they work hard and people don't like them," WHAS11 political editor Joe Arnold said.

So there is plenty to dislike about what's happening in D.C. but at least a few are looking on the brighter side. It isn't all bad news for Congress. They are barely more popular than Lindsay Lohan and the Kardashians.
