LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS) – Christmas is just one week away and for UPS, their love of logistics is coming in handy as record numbers of packages are headed out the doors.
Mike Mangeot with the shipping giant says this year is on track to break records.
“We will be getting packages all over the world for customers to make sure Christmas happens for them,” Mangeot said.
More than 135 million packages will be sorted at the Louisville Worldport facility and it’s just a fraction of the 527 million that will be shipped once the holiday season is over.
UPS’s busiest day is Thursday, when they expect to deliver 28 million packages, which is almost 80 percent above their normal daily volume.
If you’ve been putting off shipping packages, you still have until Friday to get packages to their destinations by Christmas Eve.
