LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The jackpot is the largest ever for Powerball and the second largest in U.S. history, $600 million and growing. The odds of winning? One in 175 million.

Every lottery drawing has its dedicated players, like Kim Gibson in Louisville who won $10,000 in various lotteries last year by sticking to her system.

“I play my birthday like 3, 4 times,"  Gibson said.

She's hoping Saturday will be an even bigger win.

“Stay with them don't give up, because soon as you give up, bam,” Gibson advises.

But many people try their luck only on the really big jackpots, overlooking the Friday’s $190 million Mega Millions drawing with eyes only for Saturday night's Powerball . . . because apparently $200 million doesn't let you dream big enough.

“$200 million's like run of the mill, but $600 mill is like jets and islands off the coast of Fiji,”  one player said.
