Ayla Reynolds, 2, of Waterville, Maine, was taken from her crib the night of Dec. 16, 2011, her father told police. The father, Justin DiPietro, said he put the child to bed the night of Dec. 16, 2011, in his home, and awoke the next day to find her missing, according to police. Several other adults were in the home that night, police said, including one non-relative. Ayla was living with her father while the girl's mother, Trista Reynolds, 23, was in rehab for substance abuse. Investigators still have no sense of what happened to Ayla. She has blond hair, blue eyes was last seen wearing green, polka-dotted pajamas. The Maine State Police have taken over the case, which remains an "open and active" investigation.
