(WHAS 11)--Police in Milwaukee are left stumped after they said a thief is targeting a very unusual item.
The thief is taking toilet handles.
Police said they first heard of the thefts last September, and since then, the number of thefts is growing.
The bathroom bandit targets fast food restaurants and college campuses. The most recent is Marquette University.
What police can't figure out is why.
Police said they're using security camera footage to narrow down suspects.
