(WHAS 11)--A piece of history was sold at auction for over $6000.
This Air Force One bomber jacket was once owned by President John F. Kennedy.
It was just one of 700 pieces auctioned off including documents, pictures, letters, and other gifts.
All the items came from David Powers' Estate, who was a friend and assistant of JFK’s.
Powers was also the curator of the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum until 1994. He died in 1998.
