(WHAS11) -- Despite the devastation caused by the two-mile-wide twister, heartwarming stories emerge of families being reunited with each other.

The moments are numerous . . .

A video of the moment Trenda Purcell was reunited with her first-grade son Kamden. He was at Briarwood Elementary School when the 200 mph tornado badly damaged that school.

Teacher, Rhonda Crosswhite was pictured hugging one of her students, Damien Kline, tightly after the young boy said his teacher saved his life as they sheltered from the tornado at Plaza Towers Elementary School.

Then, there's Rebekah Stuck hugging her 7-year-old son Aiden after learning he survived the twister at Briarwood Elementary School.
