(WHAS11) -- Fresh off their big win against the New York Giants, the Dallas Cowboys have yet another reason to celebrate.

Forbes magazine says the Cowboys are the most valuable sports team in America with a value of more than $2.1 billion.  That's more than any other franchise in the world except the English soccer club Manchester United.

Forbes attributes the Cowboys' worth to successful marketing and the team's massive new stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The team is also a top seller of fan merchandise like jerseys and caps.

Rounding out the top three NFL teams on Forbes' list are the New England Patriots and the Washington Redskins.

The least-valued franchise are the Jacksonville Jaguars.
