(WHAS11) -- Congressman John Yarmuth is weighing in on the gun control debate.
He is co-sponsoring a bill that would ban the sale of high capacity magazines.
He thinks that proposal may have a better chance of passing than a ban on assault weapons themselves.
And Vice President Joe Biden hopes to issue his recommendations on gun control to the president this coming Tuesday.
It's being reported that Biden will make background checks for all gun purchases a top priority.
On Friday the vice president also met with representatives from the video game industry.
