(WHAS11) -- A 107-year-old man is believed to be the oldest veteran in the country and on this Veterans Day he had breakfast with the president.

Richard Overton of Texas was at the White House Monday where he met with President Barack Obama.

Overton also attended the wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.

He said he didn't expect the president to call and was excited to meet him.

"The president wanted me to come, and I' surprised he called, so I guess he wanted to talk to me," Overton said. "I don't know. He maybe wants to run me away, I don't know. He may want to send me back over there."

Even at the tender age of 107, Overton said he still drives and does his own yard work. He also has a much younger girlfriend, she's 90.
