NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WHAS11) -- Three children are lucky to be alive after they fell through the ice on a pond in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

A neighbor who lives nearby said he saw the children playing and warned them about the dangers of falling in.

"We saw them playing in the ice and we warned them not to do that, because the ice was very thin," Rick Miller, a witness, said.

Just a few seconds later, the man was calling 911. He actually brought the children up to his house to help them recover.

The kids were checked out by paramedics and are expected to be OK.
