CANNON BEACH, Ore. – An infant was found dead and a teenager critically injured at a Cannon Beach hotel Friday. Officials were searching for a Goldendale woman and an SUV in relation to the incident.

Cannon Beach police were called to the Surfsand Resort at 148 W. Gower Ave. around 9:45 a.m. after a housekeeper found a dead infant and a 13-year-old child critically cut in a third-floor hotel room, according to Cannon Beach Police Chief Jason Schermerhorn.

The teen was life-flighted to Doernbecher Children's Hospital at Oregon Health & Science University.

Police were actively searching for Jessica Smith, 40, of Goldendale, Wash. (above) and a 2007 gold Chevy Suburban (pictured below) with WA license plate APX3141.

Anyone who sees Smith or the SUV should call Cannon Beach police at 503-436-2811.

The Clatsop County Major Crime Team was handling the investigation.
