LOS ANGELES (AP) — Water flowed down the aisles and rained onto passengers of a double-decker Qantas Airways jet as the leak forced the flight to return to Los Angeles.

The airline says the flight to Melbourne, Australia, landed safely at Los Angeles International Airport about an hour after takeoff Tuesday evening.

Qantas said there were no safety concerns with the leak and that the captain decided to turn the Airbus A380 around in the interest of passenger comfort.

Passengers say water ran down stairs in the cabin and dripped onto people seated in the lower deck. Some people were moved to dryer areas of the plane.

There were about 400 passengers on the massive four-engine A380 jetliner.

Qantas says it is working to determine the cause of the leak.
