HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- A 7-year-old has something to say to the two burglars who broke into her family’s home and stole her favorite toy.

The intruders scaled a fence and broke in through a back door in the 1800 block of Laurel Bay Drive on Wednesday.

Home surveillance cameras captured the men casually strolling around the family’s living room and kitchen.

The men snatched a laptop and an iPhone. They may not have realized that the phone belongs to a first grade girl.

“It wasn’t right to rob people,” said 7-year-old Kioni Owuor. “I hope I get it back.”

Alexander Owuor says explaining the crime to his daughter has been difficult.

“It was pretty aggravating. You work hard and kids pick up your things like it’s their own,” said father Alexander Owuor. “We won’t stand for that here.”

A neighbor apparently spooked the intruders off after looking out a window. The neighbor rushed around to the front of the Owuor home and called deputies.

“It didn’t belong to them,” explained Kioni Owuor.

The family is hoping someone recognizes the men and calls authorities.
