LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Organizers behind the Ichthus Music Festival say the relaunch of the long-running Christian music festival has been delayed until 2015.
Organizers said they were planning to hold the festival this year on June 4-7 at the Kentucky Horse Park. Lexington media cited an online posting made by organizers Saturday that said due to an "unusually high number of snow days" many schools would continue with classes past the festival date which "has made it impossible for many to attend."
The new re-launch date is planned on July 8-11 in 2015. Organizers say tickets sold for the 2014 show will be honored next year.
Ichthus Ministries Inc. announced in 2013 that the festival, which had been held for 42 years on a farm in Wilmore, would be canceled and further operations would be ceased due to financial difficulties.
Last year, Creation Festivals, which produces other Christian music festivals, purchased the rights to Ichthus.
