UNION BEACH, N.J. (AP) — A Jersey shore restaurant destroyed by Superstorm Sandy encouraged residents of Union Beach last year when its owner moved it a few blocks inland for the first summer after the storm.

But Jakeabob's Bay won't live to see the second summer after Sandy.

Owner Gigi Liaguno-Dorr (lee-ah-GOO'-no dor) shut it down for good on Friday, unable to get timely aid to rebuild the business.

She says the shutdown typifies the hard time many businesses and residents in New Jersey and New York are still having a year and a half after the storm.

A New Jersey economic development official says aid should be on the way soon for Liaguno-Dorr, who still dreams of rebuilding on the original site, but higher this time.
