STEARNS, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky State Police say they have determined a blaze that led to a firefighter's death was caused by arson.

The fire occurred at a vacant home last year in McCreary County. Whitley City Firefighter Lt. Arlie Hill III, who was among the first to respond, got caught in the blaze and received burns over 90 percent of his body. He died about two months later.

Police say a family who lived in the house in the Stearns community had moved out and the residence was vacant when it caught fire.

The Commonwealth Journal (http://bit.ly/NYCj8X) reports police said on Wednesday that they ruled the fire arson after an eight-month investigation. No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 606-878-6622.
