PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) — An eastern Kentucky woman convicted of killing her husband by poisoning him with antifreeze is set to appear before the parole board later this month.

The Appalachian News-Express reported (http://bit.ly/1fJkerM ) that 47-year-old Alissa Rose Damron will face the board March 18 at the Kentucky Correctional Institute for Women in Pewee Valley.

A jury found Damron guilty in 1998 of killing her husband, Danny K. Damron, a year earlier. Police say Danny Damron drank more than a half-cup of antifreeze during a two-week period leading up to his death.

A judge sentenced Alissa Damron to 35 years in prison.

Damron was originally eligible for parole in 2009, however the board deferred the decision for five years.
