FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (AP) — A one-time elementary school in northeastern Kentucky that has been declared surplus will go on the auction block.

The Ledger Independent reported (http://bit.ly/KgkrVz ) that the Ewing school building in Flemingsburg will be available to the highest bidder when it goes up for sale next month.

Fleming County Board of Education Superintendent Tom Price says he's unsure how much money the building might bring.

The facility was declared surplus by the Fleming County Board of Education in September, after the new Ewing Elementary school opened in August.

The structure was originally built inside the town of Ewing sometime in the 1920s and housed Ewing Elementary School until this year, when students moved into the new Ewing Elementary School building.
