Fed campgrounds being shuttered for season

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — At least four federally-run campgrounds are being shuttered for the season as the partial government shutdown winds on.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has closed the grounds at Rough River, Nolin River, Barren River and Green River lakes.

The Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/16MpCFf ) that some boat ramps will remain in use, but without restrooms available.

At Rough River Lake, North Fork, Axtel, Laurel Branch, Green River Lake and Holmes Bend, boat ramps are accessible but the restroom facilities are closed. Tailwater Recreation Area, Cave Creek Recreation Area and North Fork Day Use Area are closed. Rough River State Park, Nolin State Park and Barren River State Park facilities are open.

Customers with reservations will receive a full refund.
