NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) — Jury selection is scheduled to begin Sept. 23 for the October trial of a southern Indiana man charged with killing three women over the course of a decade.
Jurors for William Clyde Gibson's first murder trial will be selected in Dearborn County. His trial is set for Oct. 21 in Floyd County.
The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., reports (http://cjky.it/17NKObq ) a judge on Friday denied public defenders' request for a fourth continuance. She is expected to rule soon on several defense motions, including one to dismiss a death sentence request.
Gibson will stand trial first for the death of 75-year-old family friend Christine Whitis. Her body was found in Gibson's garage in April 2012.
Gibson also is charged with killing a Charlestown woman and a Florida woman since 2002.
