BURGIN, Ky. (AP) — One of four people who pleaded guilty to a 1999 beating death in Greenup County is preparing to face the parole board next month.
The Independent reported (http://bit.ly/16HuBrv ) that a hearing for 31-year-old Buddy Bennett is set for Sept. 1 at Northpoint Training Center in Burgin. Bennett is serving a 22 1/2-year sentence for manslaughter for his role in the slaying of 51-year-old Woodrow Hall of Oldtown.
The hearing will mark the sixth time Bennett has faced the parole board.
Three other also pleaded guilty in the case. Two of them are still in prison. Carol King, who pleaded guilty to burglary, has been released.
If denied parole, Bennett could be released between Aug. 7, 2017 and April 1, 2013.
