TELL CITY, Ind. (AP) — Indiana State Police say a Kentucky man has died from a fall inside a southern Indiana foundry.

Police say 45-year-old Bobby Felty of Owensboro was working as a contractor at Thyssenkrupp Waupaca Foundry outside Tell City when decking on a furnace gave way and he fell about 55 feet to a concrete floor. Felty was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Felty was not wearing any type of safety device at the time. He worked for Stewart Industrial of Owensboro.

The foundry about 40 miles west of Evansville produces brake parts, crankshafts and other components for trucks, trailers and other vehicles.
