CANNONSBURG, Ky. (AP) — The site of the new Boyd County High School Athletic Complex is serving double duty already.
The 11 acre field is being used to grow hay, which is being sold as a fundraiser for Boyd County Career and Technical Education Center.
The school's agriculture and horticulture instructor, Joe Childers, told The Independent (http://bit.ly/11Ijt72 ) the contractors placed hay-grade seeds in the ground. The result will be bales of hay that can be mown and sold to raise money.
Childers says volunteers will provide the manpower.
Childers plans to use the acreage as demo plots once the school year begins.
