RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A state emergency management official says four people have been injured and several homes have been damaged in south-central Kentucky, where strong winds swept through Monday.

Department of Emergency Management spokesman Buddy Rogers says no life-threatening injuries were reported. Those injured were taken to hospitals in Russellville and Springfield, Tenn.

Rogers said a house on Dixon Road had major structural damage. It was first believed to be in Simpson County but Rogers said later it was actually across the county line in Logan County.

Downed trees were reported in Green County as storms moved through the area.

Rogers said the National Weather Service, which issued thunderstorm and tornado warnings, will survey the damage to determine whether the areas were hit by a tornado.

Logan County lies along the Tennessee border.
