(Kens5.com) -- Florida Gov. Rick Scott is demanding answers from Florida Atlantic University over what one student calls an offensive classroom assignment.
Ryan Rotela says his intercultural communications professor instructed his class to write "Jesus" on a piece of paper and then stomp on it.
To add insult to injury, Rotela was suspended from the class after he went to discuss his concerns with the instructor's supervisor.
Gov. Scott heard about the 'Stomp on Jesus' assignment and wrote a letter to the university stating it is especially offensive in the week leading up to Easter.
Florida Atlantic University has since issued an apology.
