MADISON, W.Va. (AP) — A Boone County man accused of killing his wife and mother-in-law has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder.

Media outlets report that 37-year-old Timothy Ray Parsons entered his plea Tuesday in Boone County Circuit Court. In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped sexual assault and kidnapping charges.

Sentencing is set for May 1. Boone County prosecutor Keith Randolph says he will request life in prison without mercy.

The bodies of Parsons' wife, 35-year-old Leigh Ann Kinder-Parsons, and her mother, 62-year-old Gloria Sue Kinder of Lexington, Ky., were found in May 2012 at the couple's home in Bloomingrose. Both victims' throats were slashed.

Police say Parsons also tied up a teenage girl and raped her.
