BURLINGTON, Ky. (AP) — A grand jury has indicted three northern Kentucky residents in a dismemberment killing.
According to The Kentucky Enquirer, charges of kidnapping, murder, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse were returned Tuesday by a Boone County grand jury. Charged are 21-year-old Jeffrey Allen, 22-year-old Stephen Harkness and 23-year-old Anthony Baumgartner.
They are charged in the death of 19-year-old Daniel Delfin on Jan. 9 in a Verona field. Investigators said Delfin was beaten and strangled before he was dismembered, using a reciprocating saw and a hatchet. A deputy said the defendants told investigators they were trying to rid the world of evil. Delfin was on parole from a heroin selling conviction.
Commonwealth's Attorney Jason Hiltz said arraignment was not immediately set Tuesday.
