TYRONE, Ky. (AP) — A former railroad bridge spanning the Kentucky River in central Kentucky will become a haven for bungee jumpers.

The Lexington Herald-Leader (http://bit.ly/X5ef6r ) reports that Young's High Bridge was purchased for $105,000 by Young's Bridge Partners LLC, according to a deed filed in Anderson County. The bridge spans the river from Anderson to Woodford counties.

Mitchell Morris of Springfield is listed as the organizer and member of Young's Bridge Partners. Morris said Sunday he was general manager of Vertigo Bungee, a company that does base-jumping events around the world.

Morris says the Kentucky bridge at Tyrone will be a marquee spot for the sport.

He says the company will operate the bridge as a private club. The company hopes to have the first jumps off the bridge in May.
