LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Forecasters are predicting slick conditions from freezing precipitation expected to glaze over parts of Kentucky.
National Weather Service hydrologist Mike Callahan says a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow is expected across a broad section of the Bluegrass State, north of a line running approximately from Mayfield to Owensboro and then to Louisville, Lexington and Paintsville.
He says the precipitation is expected to begin late in the afternoon and continue into the evening.
The wintry weather is expected to be short lived, as temperatures begin rising above freezing overnight.
A winter weather advisory has been posted for parts of Kentucky.
