HAZARD, Ky. (AP) — Sustained rainfall in eastern Kentucky has set off mudslides.
In the Dema community of Knott County, several inches of mud along with trees and roots washed off a slope into the yard of Vernon Fouts and his family.
Fouts told WYMT-TV (http://bit.ly/YnWugP ) in Hazard the family heard a noise that sounded like a car crash on Wednesday night. When he looked out, he saw thick mud oozing across his yard and covering the bottom step to his front porch.
Fouts says this is the third mudslide at his home in the past several years, but is by far the worst.
