FALMOUTH, Ky. (AP) — A 21-year-old part-time volleyball coach with a northern Kentucky school district has pleaded not guilty to a charge of sex abuse.
The Kentucky Enquirer (http://bit.ly/VvCko4) reports that 21-year-old Cassandra Rose Elfers entered the plea Tuesday in Pendleton County District Court. The charges stem from accusations of an inappropriate relationship with a 13-year-old student.
Elfers' lawyer, Eric Deters, said his client did not have a sexual relationship with the child, nor did she send any text messages or photos to the teen's phone.
Elfers is a coach with the Pendleton County School District.
