LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Lottery Corp. sales for the first half of the fiscal year outpaced figures from a year earlier by 8.1 percent but fell short of the amount budgeted.
The lottery said Friday that total combined sales for July through December were $417.6 million, or $31.2 million more than the same period a year earlier. The lottery said that total was shy of the amount budgeted, however, by $192,000.
Sales for games that involve drawings grew 13 percent during the period over the previous year to $163.4 million. The figure is $18.9 million more than the previous period and $2.1 million more than budgeted.
Instant ticket sales were $254.1 million, which was $12.3 million, or 5.1 percent, more than the previous year but $2 million less than budgeted.
