FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — A rally against stricter gun control measures being held at the Kentucky Capitol has drawn hundreds of participants, many of them displaying firearms.
The "Guns Across America" rallies are being held in state capitols nationwide. Activists have promoted the rallies primarily via social media. They're being held days after President Barack Obama unveiled a sweeping package of gun-control proposals.
The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/10HRrwZ) reports those attending the rally in Frankfort, which began at noon on Saturday, gave a special round of applause for "the ladies that are packin'."
Tea party leader David Adams spoke to the crowd, saying that the "government is out of control."
