DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Officials in Danville say a decision by Boyle County Fiscal Court last week to stop saying prayers before meetings won't affect them.
The Advocate-Messenger (http://bit.ly/UQ1bx8) reports city commissioners plan to continue their tradition of saying a prayer before meetings. City attorney Stephen Dexter says the manner in which city officials conduct the prayer doesn't violate the Constitution. He says that's because the prayers are non-denominational.
Several city commissioners said they had gotten phone calls from residents asking them to keep praying.
