LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Former Louisville Metro Councilwoman Judy Green, who was ousted from office in 2011for ethics violations, has died after suffering a heart attack. She was 57.

A.D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home confirmed her death. Her attorney, Derwin Webb, told The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/VYW4y1 ) she suffered a heart attack.

Green's daughter, Joy, said her mother died early Tuesday morning.

City officials remembered her commitment to her district and her family. Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton said Green acted with the best intentions even if she didn't go about things in the right way. Hamilton said Green "did good in this community."

She was just the second city lawmaker to be removed from office. A unanimous jury of colleagues found 16 months ago that she had committed ethics violations and mismanaged taxpayer money.
