MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (AP) — The confiscation of video gambling machines in Middlesboro has been followed by criminal charges.

Kentucky State Police said the agency charged the three owners of the Cumberland Market on Wednesday, arresting each on first degree promotion of gambling. Booked into the Bell County Detention Center were 36-year-old Joseph Akers, 42-year-old Harold Wayne Woodward and 79-year-old Dallas Shackelford. They all live in Middlesboro.

Acting on citizen complaints, the KSP raided the market Monday and confiscated several gambling machines and an amount of cash.
