LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Lexington fire officials are investigating how a large pile of debris from houses demolished for road construction caught fire.
Someone spotted flames behind a supermarket early Wednesday and called in the alarm.
Fire officials told WLEX-TV (http://bit.ly/QY5Nou ) the debris was from homes that were razed for an extension of Newtown Pike. Flames spread to a tree, but the Stop and Shop store wasn't damaged.
There were no reports of injury.
