LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Jefferson County officials have identified a man who was found dead after a fire broke out in an apartment building during a standoff with police last week.

Deputy Coroner Sam Weakley told The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/TcCVXV ) the man was 23-year-old James "J.C." Charles Boyd Jr. Weakley says Boyd died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head during the incident last Wednesday.

The building caught fire as police were involved in a standoff after going to the location to serve several warrants on Boyd. Police said Monday the cause of the fire was still undetermined.
