MANTENO, Ill. (AP) — A law enforcement official says one person has been shot at a distribution warehouse in northeastern Illinois, and authorities are searching for a suspect.

Kankakee County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Ken McCabe says the department received a report of shots fired just before 2 p.m. Wednesday in the community of Manteno, about 50 miles south of Chicago. McCabe says one victim was taken to a hospital and the suspected gunman fled the scene in a vehicle.

McCabe says authorities have identified the suspect and are searching for him. He says police believe the suspect has left the area and that the facility is secure.

Police originally identified the shooting site as a Tyson Foods facility, but officials at Tyson Foods Inc. say it is not their warehouse.
