LOVELAND, Colo. (AP) — The nearly 91-square mile wildfire burning out of control near Fort Collins, Colo., is taking more homes.

Fire authorities say another eight homes have been destroyed. That makes at least 189 since June 9 -- the most lost in a fire in the state's history.

Crews continue to cut and dig lines around the flames, but haven't made any more progress since Saturday, when the blaze was declared 45 percent contained.

Meanwhile, a second fire is burning west of Colorado Springs. It has burned about 1 1/2 square miles, but fire managers say the dry conditions mean it has the potential to grow.

As crews try to get the upper hand on the fire, local authorities have dispatched roving patrols to combat looting.

Because of the fire danger, Rocky Mountain National Park is banning all campfires and charcoal grilling.

Authorities are also enforcing a ban on using fireworks in the state.
