GIRARD, Pa. (AP) — A northwestern Pennsylvania teen is dead following a car crash just a few hours after he graduated from high school.

The Erie Times-News reports 18-year-old Brandon Nicosia died early Tuesday when the car he was riding in ran off the road and rolled over in Girard Township, near Erie.

Investigators have charged the driver, 21-year-old David DeHaven II, with vehicular homicide, drunk driving and driving without a license. Police say Nicosia was ejected from the car and became trapped beneath it.

Nicosia had graduated with his Girard High School classmates a few hours before the crash.

DeHaven is jailed in lieu of $125,000 bail. A phone listing for him could not immediately be located Tuesday.
