Fla. High School student's Trump, 'the wall' costume sparking outrage

PUTNAM CO, Fla. (WTLV) -- A Palatka High School student's "Trump and wall" costume has sparked outrage from some who have viewed the photo.

The photo, which appears to have been taken at Palatka High, shows Cassidy Cushman and her friend Shelby McClellan dressed up as Donald Trump and "The Wall."

Of course the wall they're referencing to is the wall Trump says he will force Mexico to pay for to block immigrants from illegally entering the U.S.

The photo posted Monday with the caption, "Trump and the wall [American Flag emojis]" has more than 200 likes, 33 shares and over 200 comments.

Some people commented on the intial post calling the photo 'racist' and inappropriate while others commented saying the post itself was just a joke.

"Finding humor in the heat of a racist situation should not be tolerated," Kiana Fells wrote.

"Love your idea it was cute," Nikki Stewart commented.

Cassidy Cushman's response:

I would like to personally apologize for these rude and ignorant people who have been commenting disgusting words and being racist me and Shelby has a amazing day as trump and the wall and I would just like to pray for those rude people who take there anger out on social media
